| Castlebank Hotel |
Built as a private house in 1850 Castlebank retains the air of a home rather than a formal hotel, and many guests, both old and new, remark on the friendly and homely atmosphere.
Leading off the small reception hall is the residents lounge, where you will find local guide books, and an assortment of reference books and classics from our own library. We also have a selection of boardgames, cards, and children's books. A free internet connection is provided to check websites and e mail, along with a list of DVDs for you to enjoy in your room, and even a telescope for star gazing.
The cosy bar is a great place to unwind at the end of a busy day and in the winter months is warmed by an open log fire. In a separate reading area, which can be used as an extension of the bar, you will find daily papers, magazines and board games.
The breakfast and dining room is particularly inviting in the evening with soft lighting, a romantic theme and views out towards the floodlit castle.
During the warmer summer months guests may prefer to take a drink out in the garden, where seating areas and an outdoor heater are provided, or hide away in our little patio area, shaded by the medlar tree.
In room facilities include small flat screen TV with DVD player, WIFI access, hairdryers, and beverage trays. Most rooms have additional seating for reading or relaxing and space to work. A range of lighting
is provided and extra heaters or fans can be requested if required.
Although we don’t offer 24 hour room service and reception, as resident owners one of the family is always available to assist you and ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.
